Your Mission 08.26.11

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Go an afternoon without technology. Go ahead... leave the house and enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend cell phone free.
2) Give 3 genuine compliments.
3) Give the gift of experience, not stuff. This weekend, choose a loved one and think of an experience you can give them. A date with you, doing something fun, hanging out, cooking, playing, talking, playing games, exploring, a fun time at a park or beach. Something other than everyday shenanigans. An experience is much more meaningful than an object and it also builds connectedness which can keep you happy, healthy and young at heart.

Your Mission 07.29.11

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Take a midnight stroll.
2) Play Mad Libs with a friend.
3) Try something Weird. One obvious way to move out of your comfort zone is to do something new. When you choose something new you may choose something that is line with your personality. So your experiences can become limited. Instead, choose something that's out of character for you. Start by reading about a random topic at Wikipedia. Visit a museum and sit and sketch. Take a friend to the driving range and hit some golf balls. Add an unexpected RSS-feed about something you normally never read about. Or learn to make eco-friendly cleaning products. The weekend is your oyster - so go out and enjoy something new.

Your Mission 07.22.11

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Book tickets to a upcoming concert.
2) Take a warm sea salt bath for 20 minutes.
3) Act like a nine-year-old. To keep stress at bay, it's important for adults to always have a little kid in them. Here are a few ideas for how to retain that child-like wonder: Spin around in circles until you get dizzy and then lie down and watch the ceiling spin. Skip. It's surprising how free and happy a person can feel by skipping down the street. Watch your favorite childhood movie. Eat an ice cream cone. Play tag or hide-and-seek. Catch lighting bugs. Swing at a playground. Just remember, sometimes our silly side needs to come out and play. Follow this list and your inner child will always be satisfied.

Your Mission 07.08.11

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Say "Good Morning" to 2 strangers.
2) Stand outside for 3 minutes and take 15 deep-long-breathes.
3) Stop giving advice. If you always tell your friend how to fix his/her problems, the relationship will be unbalanced. You become the one Who knows All, and she becomes the One Who Is Troubled. Eventually you're both going to tire of those roles. Instead, let her bounce ideas off of you. Ask, "What are you planning to do about this tricky situation?" Or just give a supportive comment: "That sounds difficult. How do you feel about it?" Offer your opinion only if she asks for it. Otherwise you're not having a dialogue; your giving a lecture. - Frank M. Lachmann

Your Mission

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Be yourself, everyone else is taken. - Oscar Wilde

2) Take pleasure in the successes of others rather than using their successes as a yardstick to measure your own life.

3) Nowadays blissful feelings seem to be in shorter supply than ever before. In fact, according to the United States General Social Survey, a national poll that gauges social trends, women in this country have reported being less happy each year since 1972, and we're currently at an all-time happiness low. One explanation: "There are so many opportunities available to women now, but with that comes a lot of pressure to be fully self-actualized--to have the amazing career and family, and the ability to balance it all with ease. So you constantly end up feeling disappointed because you're not as happy or successful as you think you should be," says Ariel Gore, author of Bluebird: Women and the New Psychology of Happiness.

Your Mission 02.17.11

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Go 10 mins without using your thumbs. Go ahead... try to pick up a coffee cup.
2) Do one thing at a time. "When walking, walk. When eating, eat."
3) Mindfulness is being aware of your actions and thoughts, and what your senses bring in, in your every day routine. To get more of it into your life, pay attention to the sounds and smells around you or use your non-dominant hand to brush your teeth or other routine activities. It's an instant way of taking yourself off auto-pilot and being more present.

Your Mission

Your valentines weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Eat a lot of chocolate.
2) Take a bubble bath.
3)
Appreciate the loved ones in your life that make you laugh and bring you happiness:

A study done by Harvard Medical School revealed that "happiness can spread from person to person to person in a chain reaction, through social circles." On average, every happy friend you have increases your chance of being happy by 9 percent. Now if happiness is contagious, don't you want to put yourself in a position to catch it?

Happy valentines weekend, my darlings.
xoxo

Your Mission

Your weekend mission,
should you choose to accept

1) Be inquisitive like a scientist and curious about nature.
2) QUICK think of 3 things you are thankful for.
3) Passion. There are jobs that you do for money. There are careers, which offer money plus advancement. And there are callings, which are those things you have to do. Americans on average have 12 different jobs and four different careers over their lifetime. The Wealthy have fewer, and I believe it's because they've found their passion, ask yourself: What is it people say I do well? What am I doing with my time? And if that doesn't work: What turned me on as a child - and does it have a corollary in the adult world?
